As part of our commitment to being a fully inclusive school we have produced an alternative curriculum. Designed to bring a more practical setting for students we use the abundance of local facilities to enrich student experiences of education and make the curriculum much more accessible for all. It is intended that a multi-strand approach is taken with students; covering areas like citizenship, history, maths, science and PE.

Learning outside the classroom was most successful when it was an integral element of long-term curriculum planning and closely linked to classroom activities.”
In some areas formal qualifications will be offered through a more vocational route, for instance when working in a nearby community project for a market garden pupils will be able to reach Royal Horticultural Society qualifications. In other areas full GCSE qualifications will be offered, for example GCSE Physical Education using local sporting and leisure facilities for practical examination.
Key elements to the design of the curriculum are centred on accessing a host of expertise that may be found outside of the classroom, whether these are external coaches in sports or high quality professionals in new areas like Outdoor and Adventurous Activities students will experience new settings.
